The first hackathon I attended. I was totally blank of what a hackathon could bring, apart from not much sleep and 28 hours of concept development. The hackathon was focused on the area of health and cases were presented by multiple health institutions in the province of Friesland. Our team, consisting of IOS-developers and me, chose the case of De Friesland Verzekeraar: “How do we get elderly, with a low socio-economic status, familiar with wearables.” Our concept; motivating elderly to become active by rewarding them.
Overall this hackathon showed me that I can facilitate in a creative process, even with people who did this for the first time. It also showed me that I want to have research to back up even concepts or ideas, whereas others do not mind.
